vivo V50 Lite 5G: Over 24-Hour Battery Life with Blazing-Fast Charging
This might just be the best mid-range phone when it comes to battery life!

Fresh after launching the base V50, vivo has now launched the new vivo V50 Lite 5G in the Philippines, and this phone’s key highlight is its incredibly long battery life.
How long is the battery life exactly? Well, this phone promises to be one of the longest-lasting phones on a single charge that you can get on the market. That’s because the V50 Lite 5G packs a massive 6,500mA BlueVolt battery. While many phones today have 4,500 to 5,000mAh batteries, the newest vivo smartphone outdoes almost every smartphone that’s available right now.
Having a massive battery is not the V50 Lite 5G’s only claim to fame as it is also a promising daily driver when it comes to design, performance, and photography. As such, the vivo V50 Lite 5G promises to be an excellent daily driver for users who want the most battery life.
Here, we’ll explore the various features that make the V50 Lite 5G a compelling new smartphone option, starting first with its battery life.
So, how long does the vivo V50 Lite 5G battery actually last?
During the phone’s launch, the vivo V50 Lite 5G’s massive 6,500mAh BlueVolt battery was highlighted. This makes sense considering the massive size, though what makes it even more impressive is how slim the phone still is despite the big battery. This is thanks to the design of the battery which incorporates advanced sealing and energy density innovations.
According to vivo, the V50 Lite 5G can last for 27.4 hours of YouTube and 10.5 hours of gaming, complete with 11 days of standby time. Of course, we didn’t want to just take vivo’s word for it as we actually tested the phone to see if it lived up to the hype.
To start, we first tried a real-world test of the phone. Specifically, we played a 2-and-a-half-hour video with the screen at 75% brightness and with the onboard speakers at 100%. Once it ended, we played another video for two hours with the same settings, and then we checked the battery percentage.
We started with the phone at 100%, and after the four-and-a-half-hour test, the phone’s battery still had 85% remaining – definitely an impressive result. This makes it an excellent partner for watching movies or shows, though this first test was with a video that we copied to the device itself.
After this, we tried another test, this time playing YouTube videos for hours (via Wi-Fi), starting with 100% battery life, but at 50% brightness and 50% volume to better match real-world usage. It took a long time, but even after 20 hours, it still had around 20% remaining. Thus, it’s fair to say that the V50 Lite 5G’s promised battery life is accurate as it can stream videos for over 24 hours on a single charge.
For gaming, this should also be the case as after playing for around 2 hours, only 20% of the battery percentage was used up.
Given these results, it would be incredibly difficult to drain the phone’s battery in just one day. As such, the V50 Lite 5G should be able to last for two days of non-intensive use. Thanks to this, you can opt not to bring a power bank with you if this is your daily driver.
Blazing-fast charging lets the V50 Lite 5G reach 100% in a flash
Having a huge battery is great and all, but it would be quite annoying if it took too long to fill up. Thankfully, that’s not the case with the vivo V50 Lite 5G as this phone has support for up to 90W FlashCarge.
For reference, thanks to this fast-charging feature, the phone can reach 50% from zero in just 23 minutes. As for a full charge, you’ll only need to wait around 53 minutes – a great result given how huge the battery is.
This means you won’t even notice how big the V50 Lite 5G’s battery is, at least when it comes to charging it. That’s because many phones in the mid-range have slower battery charging features. The fast charging also means you can get hours of use with just a few minutes plugged in (great if you forget to charge the phone during the previous night.
As a bonus, the V50 Lite 5G has reverse charging so that you can use it as a power bank for your devices. Plus, vivo promises that even with the FlashCharge feature, the V50 Lite 5G will retain 80% of its capacity after 5 years.
Promising 50MP Sony camera with Aura Light
The previous vivo V-series generation devices boasted great photography capabilities. This is also the case with the V50 Lite 5G as it has a 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor main camera, along with an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP selfie shooter.
Thanks to the Sony sensor, you can get great photos, day or night. The ultrawide camera is also not half bad. Here are samples taken with both rear cameras:

Aside from landscapes, the new V50 Lite model is also a great match for portrait photography, especially night portraits. This is thanks to the inclusion of Aura Light which lights up your portrait subject even in low light conditions. Plus, the selfie camera is also quite good.

Based on these results, the newest V50 series phone shouldn’t disappoint when it comes to photography. Thus, it is a deserving member of vivo’s signature mid-range lineup. That’s not even mentioning the myriad of AI features for photography, including AI Erase 2.0 (to remove unwanted objects/people in the background) and AI Photo Enhance (to add color and clarity to images).
Eye-catching design that’s drop-tested though
Image quality isn’t the only thing that’s great when talking about visuals. The phone’s design is also quite elegant, whether you get it in the Phantom Black or the Titanium Gold colorway.
What also looks nice is the 6.77-inch display that has a 120Hz refresh rate. Yes, the phone’s screen is AMOLED, meaning you’ll enjoy vibrant colors and deep blacks – great for binge-watching TV series and movies.
It’s not just the looks that vivo focused on though. The V50 Lite 5G is also designed with longevity in mind. To be exact, this phone has SGS 5-Star Drop Resistance and Military-Grade certification. What’s more, it also has IP65 and IP69 water and dust resistance. With these, the V50 Lite 5G is guaranteed to survive drops and accidental splashes with no issues.
Reliable performance makes the vivo V50 Lite 5G a great daily driver
Before we wrap things up, it’s also worth noting that the vivo V50 Lite 5G should be a great performer when it comes to daily use and gaming. Thanks to its Mediatek Dimensity 6300 SoC, it should be able to handle today’s popular games with no issues. It should also have enough power to comfortably run social media, Office, and light content creation apps.
Multitasking also won’t be an issue as the phone has a whopping 12GB of RAM, complete with 12GB of extended RAM. This means the V50 Lite 5G shouldn’t suffer from any slowdowns.
On a final note, the newest V series phone is also a great daily driver when it comes to its form factor. Even with massive battery and various photography features, the V50 Lite 5G is still just 7.79 mm thin and 197g light, making it easy to put in your pocket or a small bag.
