Back in the grind after a recent major smartphone launch, we’re getting a flashy flagship wearable unveiling in the HONOR Watch 5 Ultra. marking a significant leap in wearable technology with aerospace-grade titanium construction and advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. The premium device, launched on July 2, 2025, represents the first smartwatch to achieve five-star reliability certification from SGS for shock, corrosion, and scratch resistance.

The Watch 5 Ultra features a distinctive 1.5-inch circular AMOLED display with 466×466 pixel resolution, protected by sapphire crystal glass rated at Mohs 9 hardness. The screen sits within an octagonal titanium frame inspired by spacecraft portholes, combining aesthetic appeal with exceptional durability. We’re getting three variants: Black Fluoroelastomer, Brown Leather, and premium Titanium models.

HONOR’s MagicOS platform integrated with DeepSeek’s large AI model powers the device, enabling sophisticated on-device intelligence. The proprietary Tri-Chip Smart Control system optimizes performance and power management, while the YOYO AI assistant provides real-time contextual responses and health insights directly on the wrist.

Health monitoring capabilities are extensive, featuring ECG functionality, heart rate tracking, and advanced cardiovascular assessments including sudden cardiac arrest screening and China-PAR risk evaluation. The watch monitors autonomic nervous system function and includes comprehensive sensors for accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, ambient light, and geomagnetic data.

The watch also includes 105 sports modes, ranging from traditional activities to specialized options like bungee jumping and gateball. The device includes professional-grade 40-meter freediving certification under EN13319 standards, with 5ATM and IP68 water resistance ratings.

Battery performance varies by configuration, delivering up to 15 days without eSIM, 10 days when paired with HONOR phones using eSIM, or three days in full eSIM mode. The watch supports wireless charging and includes Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, NFC for payments and transit, plus five satellite positioning systems.

Chinese pricing starts at 1,999 yuan ($275) for the Black model, 2,299 yuan ($317) for Brown Leather, and 2,899 yuan ($399) for the Titanium version.
