Xiaomi unveils new flagship devices and AI-powered wearables

Xiaomi just dropped a carload of devices before the stary of July--including an actual car!

Xiaomi recently held a major product launch event in Beijing under the theme “New beginnings,” introducing an extensive lineup of gadgetry. The new product line featured consumer electronics and smart devices specially geared for the domestic market. As such, the public bore witness to the unveiling of the YU7 series, MIX Flip 2 foldable smartphone, Pad 7S Pro 12.5 tablet, and several innovative wearable devices.

The standout product, MIX Flip 2, represents a significant advancement in foldable smartphone technology. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the device features a massive 5,165mAh battery that surpasses the 5,000mAh milestone for compact foldables. The smartphone’s main camera incorporates a Light Fusion 800 image sensor paired with a Leica Summilux optical lens, promising enhanced photography capabilities. Its 3.5-inch outer display supports over 500 commonly used apps across various categories, while animated lock screen pets add an interactive element. The device measures just 7.57mm when unfolded and weighs 199g, available in four colors starting at 5,999 RMB.

Also introduced was the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5, the company’s latest flagship tablet powered by their first self-developed 3nm processor, the Xiaomi XRING O1. The device features a 12.5-inch 3.2K LCD display with 1,000 nits peak brightness and includes advanced multitasking capabilities. Despite its ultra-thin 5.8mm design, it houses a 10,610mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, reaching full charge in 36 minutes.

The wearable category saw significant additions with the Xiaomi AI Glasses, weighing just 40g and featuring real-time translation, livestreaming capabilities, and multimodal AI functions. The glasses support object recognition, text translation, and meeting assistance with automatic transcription across 10 languages. They’re priced from 1,999 RMB.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10 marks the milestone 10th generation of the popular wearable lineup, featuring a 1.72-inch AMOLED display with 1,500 nits peak brightness and AI-powered fitness features. The Watch S4 41mm represents Xiaomi’s first compact-size smartwatch, designed specifically for smaller wrists with advanced health monitoring capabilities.

The event concluded with the launch of OpenWear Stereo Pro open-ear earbuds, featuring the industry’s first five-driver system and active sound leakage reduction technology, starting at 999 RMB.
