Resident Evil Requiem is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in February 2026

This was announced alongside the release of a new trailer.

At the recent Nintendo Direct, Capcom shared a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, which also confirmed that the game will launch on the Switch 2 in February.

Previously, the next Resident Evil game was only revealed to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. As such, it was a bit of a surprise to see the game get revealed for the Switch 2. After all, while the Switch 2 is way more powerful than the first Switch, it’s still a hybrid console that isn’t as capable hardware-wise as dedicated home consoles.

With this in mind, it’s quite impressive to see Requiem on the Switch 2. The game’s new trailer at the Nintendo Direct was captured on a Switch 2, and if you ask us, the visuals look quite good. Note that most of the footage shown was in the form of cutscenes, so we’ll be interested to see how well the Switch 2 version will actually run.

Of course, it’s not just visuals that make this new trailer a must-see. That’s because it gives us some interesting glimpses into the game’s story, as well as the horrors that players will experience.
