The recently released Y21d smartphone comes packed with a whopping IP68, IP69, and IP69+ water and dust resistance ratings. Given how the Philippines has experienced 16 tropical cyclones in 2025–with Typhoon Matmo recently bringing heavy rainfall and flooding to northern Luzon, the Y21d targets users who need device functionality during wet weather conditions.
The IP69+ rating indicates the phone passed three rounds of IP69 water resistance testing, demonstrating capability against high-pressure water jets and submersion. The Wet Hand Touch feature maintains screen responsiveness when operated with wet fingers, while One-Tap Water Ejection removes water from speakers through vibration without requiring traditional drying methods.
The device carries SGS Gold Five-Star certification and Military Grade MIL-STD 810H durability standards. Laboratory testing showed the Y21d survived 42,000 drops from small heights while maintaining functionality. Construction includes dual ion-strengthened Guardian Glass screen, reinforced core, and cushioning structure, providing enhanced puncture resistance against sharp objects and drop resistance on rough surfaces.

The 6,500mAh battery retained over 80 percent of original capacity after 1,600 full charge cycles in laboratory testing, equivalent to approximately five years of typical usage. The device includes 44W FlashCharge with 29-Dimension Security Protection, a safety system designed to prevent power surges, heat damage, static, and other charging-related risks.
The vivo Y21d is now available for as low as Php 6,999 in all vivo concept stores, kiosks, authorized dealers, and online platforms on vivo e-store and Shopee. With Shopee, you can get it for as low as Php 5,669 until October 16, 2025.
