This achievement comes as Xiaomi holds a 14% share of the global smartphone market in Q3 2025.
The Redmi Note Series debuted globally in Singapore in 2014, selling 5,000 units in under one minute. Its expansion into India later that year saw initial stock sell out in just eight seconds, demonstrating strong consumer demand for accessible performance-focused smartphones.
Global expansion accelerated between 2017 and 2018, with the Redmi Note 4 Series entering Latin America through Mexico in May 2017 and debuting in Spain that November. The series is now available through Xiaomi stores, e-commerce platforms, and carrier partnerships worldwide.
Xiaomi has progressively introduced premium features into the mid-range segment. The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G featured a 200MP camera with optical image stabilization, while the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ 5G became the first global Redmi Note device with IP68 water and dust resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
