LG Electronics is expanding its Gaming Portal with new titles that let Smart TV users play games directly on their screens. This comes without the need for additional consoles or devices, marking the company’s push to position its webOS platform as a premiere gaming destination.
The expanded lineup now includes over 4,000 cloud-based games and 600 casual titles, with recent additions spanning dance games, voice-controlled trivia, arcade racing, and narrative adventures. The selection aims to leverage the large-screen format of modern televisions while eliminating the need for separate gaming hardware.
Just Dance Now, developed through a collaboration with Ubisoft, is now available on LG Smart TVs running webOS 22 or later in the US, Australia, Sweden, and Norway, with European rollout planned. Players use the LG Magic Remote’s motion-sensing technology to follow dance routines, with the remote tracking movements for on-screen gameplay. In the US market, LG has partnered with Volley to bring voice-controlled games including Jeopardy! and Song Quiz, tapping into Volley’s platform that has reached over 50 million players worldwide.
For racing enthusiasts, Asphalt Legends Unite from Blacknut is available free with ads in the US, offering full access to all cars and maps from the start through simple remote directional controls. Another Blacknut title, My Little Puppy from Krafton, provides a story-driven adventure about a dog’s emotional journey. Both games can be played using LG’s new Wi-Fi-based Mobile Gamepad app, available on Android and iOS, which turns smartphones into controllers for supported titles.
Two games from last year’s LG webOS Hackathon have also joined the portal. Quest of Sunflower by Couchplay, the grand prize winner, features AI-generated storytelling and family-friendly gameplay. Signs of Magic by Lukas Klingsbo uses the Magic Remote’s gyroscopic sensors as a virtual wand for spell-casting gameplay, with players helping wizard Elowen defeat monsters.
