The Xiaomi 17 series is officially going global, and the hype gets more and more palpable as February 28 dawns closer. Yes, Xiaomi just confirmed a global launch event in Barcelona, Spain, timed just ahead of Mobile World Congress 2026. Two devices will take center stage: the Xiaomi 17 and the more premium Xiaomi 17 Ultra, two smartphones which already launched in China in late 2025 to considerable fanfare.
Both handsets are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and likely run the latest iteration of HyperOS out of the box. Camera duties on both devices will be handled by a Leica-tuned triple 50MP rear system, keeping Xiaomi’s now well-established partnership with the legendary German optics brand front and center.
In Europe, the Xiaomi 17 is expected to start at €999, with the 17 Ultra beginning at €1,499. Teased color options for the standard model include Black, Blue, and Pink, while the Ultra showcases a luminescent Green — giving buyers a healthy range of finishes across both tiers.

It’s worth noting that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max variants that launched in China are not expected to receive a global release at this time, meaning users will get the full experience courtesy of the two Barcelona-bound models. As such, we shall wait and see what else the new series has to offer.
The event kicks off at 14:00 GMT+1 and will be livestreamed across Xiaomi’s official channels. For more news and updates, make sure to check out the official website and Facebook page.
