Digimon Story: Time Stranger is getting a DLC expansion next year

Hopefully we see the DLC get released in early 2027.

Bandai Namco recently announced that a new DLC expansion for Digimon Story: Time Stranger is in the works, and it’s set to be released in 2027.

This new DLC was revealed via the Digimon Games official X (formerly Twitter) account. There, it was confirmed that development has begun on an expansion, though it won’t be released until next year. There’s also no word on a specific release date.

Even though it will be a while for the DLC to be released, the fact that it’s said to be an expansion should mean it’ll add substantial story content. Plus, fans have had to wait quite a while for Time Stranger because of the game’s lengthy development time, so a year-long wait for the expansion shouldn’t be too bad.

Time Stranger is the latest Digimon Story game, and it was released in October 2025. The game was released eight years after Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory, and while it took a long time for Time Stranger to launch, it had a successful release. It has since become quite a hit, as it has now sold over 1 million copies – a pretty big number for a Digimon game.

For those who haven’t played it yet, Time Stranger is currently available with a 30% discount on Steam. The game is also set to be released on Switch and Switch 2 on July 10, 2026.
