POCO officially introduced the POCO X8 Pro Series today, marking the transition of the X Series into a flagship-level performance lineup. The POCO X8 Pro Series launches in the Philippines with a 3nm chipset and 100W HyperCharge technology. This new series includes the POCO X8 Pro Max, the POCO X8 Pro, and a limited Iron Man Edition, developed in collaboration with Marvel. Kang Lou, POCO’s Senior Product Marketing Manager, stated that the series aims to make flagship experiences more accessible while pushing performance boundaries with the new Pro Max model.
At the heart of the POCO X8 Pro Max is the global debut of the Dimensity 9500s chipset. Built on a 3nm process, this processor achieved an AnTuTu score of 3,085,998 during internal testing, supported by LPDDR5X 9600Mbps RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The standard POCO X8 Pro also sees a performance leap with the debut of the Dimensity 8500-Ultra Mobile Platform, which offers a 25% boost in GPU performance.
To sustain peak performance during intensive tasks, the series utilizes LiquidCool Technology; the Max model specifically features a 5,800mm² 3D IceLoop cooling system designed to reduce chipset temperatures by up to 3°C. Software-level WildBoost Optimization further enhances the experience by stabilizing frame rates and enabling 1.5K super resolution in gaming.
Battery life serves as a major pillar for the new lineup, with the Pro Max housing an 8,500mAh battery—the largest in the brand’s smartphone history. This battery is designed for a two-day lifespan and is rated to maintain 80% capacity after 1,600 charge cycles. Both models in the series feature 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse charging. Visually, the devices utilize flagship M10 panels reaching 3,500 nits of peak brightness, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and a comprehensive suite of IP66 to IP69K durability ratings.
