Recently, a teaser for Summer Game Fest 2026 was shared, featuring clips of recent 2026 games and upcoming releases, including the likes of Resident Evil Requiem, Saros, and more.
Even though Final Fantasy wasn’t highlighted, in the teaser’s comments section, many gamers have expressed that they hope to see the next Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 finally get revealed. After all, it has been two years since the game’s launch, so right about now should be a good time to reveal the game. This was also the case for Rebirth, which was revealed in 2022 – two years after Remake’s launch.
What’s more, director Naoki Hamaguchi revealed in a recent interview with Nintendo Life that he has completed “over 40 full playthroughs” of Part 3, indicating that it’s in the later stages of development.
Given the recent statement by the director, chances are pretty high that Part 3 will be revealed at SGF. Of course, there’s also a chance that the game will instead be revealed at Tokyo Game Show later this year.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 is sure to dominate the headlines if it gets released, but based on previous SGF events, there should be more big announcements at the main show.
The main Summer Game Fest 2026 showcase will happen on June 5 and will be streamed live worldwide (on June 6 in Philippine time). As is the case with previous SGF events, there will be more livestreams from various publishers and developers until June 8, 2026.
