It has been a year since its launch, and now, Funcom has announced that Dune: Awakening is finally coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026.
The console version’s release date was announced during the recent State of Play livestream. After the announcement, Funcom announced that pre-orders for the game’s PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are now available, with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions coming with early access.
What’s great about the console version is that players will get to enjoy all the new content, features, and enhancements that have been released on the PC version over the past year. Plus, the game on consoles will get tweaks to make it feel better to play on those platforms.
Here’s a quick rundown of the console version’s highlight features:
- Controls and Performance: Same experience as on PC, with controls and UI optimized for console. Consoles will also target 60 FPS, at least on PS5 and Xbox Series X using Performance Mode.
- Single-player: The full game will be playable entirely in single-player, with various gameplay customization settings
- Story complete: The grand finale of Book One, offering a dramatic conclusion to Dune: Awakening’s storyline.
- Scalable difficulty: Players will be able to tweak harvesting rates to experience gain and combat difficulty.
Aside from the console version, Funcom also announced that after the console launch, players can expect to get a new survival map – The Polar Cap. This new map will be released as a free update later this year, and it will also feature new content and survival mechanics.
Plus, Funcom announced that Dune: Awakening will be available on Xbox Game Pass on the day that it launches on consoles. It will also be fully Xbox Play Anywhere enabled, meaning players can enjoy cross-play and cross-progression between their Xbox console and PC (via the Micrsoft Store).
