Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent gets Final Fantasy VI collab

Octopath Traveler 0's Phenn is also coming to the game.

Netease recently announced that the Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent x Final Fantasy VI collab is now live as part of its ‘Travelers’ Mid-Year Reunion Festival.”

While Octopath Traveler 0 was released late last year (it’s a game with core mechanics and a story based on Champions of the Continent), the game’s launch didn’t mean that Champions of the Continent will no longer be supported. Instead, the game has continued to get new updates, with the latest one bringing a Final Fantasy VI crossover. Note that because the English version’s content releases are delayed compared to the Japanese version, the JP version of the game got this collab in August last year.

To be exact, the FF6 collab brings familiar faces from this iconic Final Fantasy title to the Octopath Traveler mobile game. During the collab event, players can get various rewards, a collaboration-exclusive Keeper, 800 free Rubies, Sacred Seals, and more.

Along with this, the game’s new update is also adding Phenn from Octopath Traveler 0. Specifically, Phenn will be added starting June 18, which is great news for fans who have played Zero.

The Mid-Year Celebration also features an array of events and rewards. Players can get special login bonuses, including special 10-pull Guidance Tickets for a limited reward pool, along with up to 130 free Guidance pulls, among others.

As for the events, the update features the Kindling Wish event, where players can earn Grand Sacred Seals for Memory Travelers and Solistia Memory Travelers. Plus, the Myriad Post Office will be available for a limited time. Players can collect themed stickers and exchange them for Rubies, Gold Guidestones, and more here.

Finally, the latest update adds an array of quality-of-life enhancements, such as quick-claim options for mission and mailbox rewards, along with beginner-friendly additions like accessory recommendations and a one-tap Team Setup feature.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is available now on Android and iOS.
