Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok | How to unlock and access the new expansion content

Here’s all you need to know about getting to Endless Ragnarok!

It has been two years since the game’s launch, and now, there’s a big reason to return to Granblue Fantasy: Relink, as Endless Ragnarok is available now for PS4, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, and adds so much to the main highlight of the game, which is the LATE GAME.

In case you missed it, Endless Ragnarok is a massive addition to Relink, featuring many new story beats, a new solo rogue-like mode for easier material farming, 6 new characters, a new summon system, more ways to level and progress your character, and a ton of new fun fights to beat with your party and/or your friends. It’s practically a whole new chunk of game for fans to enjoy!

But you may be asking yourself: “Wait, so if it’s LATE GAME, how do I play the Endless Ragnarok DLC and what do I need to do to access it?” Here’s a quick rundown of everything you need to know to start playing all the new content.

First, for those who don’t know exactly what it is, we’ll explain Endless Ragnarok.

What exactly is Endless Ragnarok?

Granblue Fantasy is one of the first big mobile RPGs, and since the original game’s launch a decade ago, Cygames has released various other titles in the series. Among these was Granblue Fantasy: Relink, an action RPG that was released back in 2024. In terms of gameplay, Relink is great as it’s not only a compelling single-player experience, but it’s also an excellent game with friends, given its co-op action (that’s reminiscent of titles like Monster Hunter).

Two years after its release, Cygames has now released Endless Ragnarok, a new expansion that adds plenty of late-game content to the base game – with late game being the prime highlight of the game, as this is where you get to experiment a lot with builds and get to take on amazingly challenging and fun fights. While sure, it’s a DLC, calling it that is practically underselling what Endless Ragnarok has to offer with just how much new stuff it brings to the table.

For starters, Endless Ragnarok adds a lot of new story beats and, while yes, it’s not a full-on new campaign mode like how the start of the game was, you are given a lot of new scenes that involve the appearance of “The Conflux”, and even some of the aftermath of the events of the base game. These events even lead to showdowns with popular Granblue Fantasy characters like Beelzebub and The World (which will surely excite fans who are familiar with the OG game). It’s quite an enjoyable treat for those who just want a bit more lore to the game.

Joining your fight against these new threats are 6 new playable characters, and 2 of them are quite familiar faces from the base game. In case you still want more firepower for the fights to come, don’t worry, because it seems like EVERYONE wants to do their part to claim victory! Enter the new Summon system. With this mechanic, players can now bring forth allies into battle, which adds an extra dimension to combat. Trust me, Relink fans will be left in awe and/or in hilarity over the RANGE of allies that you can summon because you can summon almost everyone – from Primals to Bosses to random monsters to even just the regular Joe off the streets of Seedhollow! Tactically speaking, though, the summon system is just fantastic, as it can give you a DPS boost, buffs, crowd control effects, and most importantly, invincibility, as you are immune to damage while you are using your summon, so be sure to time them right for the best results.

Endless Ragnarok also features new ways to make your characters even stronger than before. Weapons will now feature a new layer of upgrades via transcending them. Most importantly, you will also have access to Master Traits, where you can choose to learn some unique skills for your character that can really specialize them into certain builds. Each master trait is unique per character, and every one of them is such a huge difference-maker.

You now also have “The Conflux”. This is a brand-new solo mode which features rouge- like elements and is a great way to make farming for upgrade materials much easier compared to the base game. It also features some nice little minigames.

Finally, this expansion features full crossplay support. With this, players can embark on co-op quests with each other, no matter which platform they’re playing on. This is great, especially for friend groups who have different preferences between console or PC.

Now that we’ve run down the core additions of Endless Ragnarok, a quick explanation of how to get it is in order. If you already have a copy of Granblue Fantasy: Relink, you’ll simply need to purchase the Upgrade Kit on your platform’s online store (e.g., PlayStation Store on PS5). By doing so, you can experience the new expansion content on your previous save.

On the other hand, if you don’t have a copy of the game yet, or if you have but want to replay Relink on another platform, you can get the Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok edition, which is a bundle of the base game and the expansion. If you go with this option, you’ll need to progress through most of Relink’s story to access the new content.

How to Reach Endless Ragnarok Content for Granblue Fantasy: Relink Players

As Endless Ragnarok is a late-game-heavy DLC, if you’re an existing player who finished the base game, you should have no problems accessing the new content.

It’s a bit of a different story for people who are playing Relink for the first time and starting from scratch, as you’ll be able to encounter the DLC’s new content at different points in the game.

The new Crossplay feature will be unlocked from the get-go as soon as you start the game with Endless Ragnarok installed. This means newer players with the Endless Ragnarok edition can play co-op with friends on other platforms even without reaching the endgame.

As for “The Conflux”, you will unlock this new game mode during Chapter 6 of Relink’s story. Specifically, you’ll need to do the new side quest in Seedhollow (it will appear if you have the DLC) during this chapter. You will then have access to the first three cycles of the Conflux and can use that to easily farm for upgrade materials. To access the deeper cycles of The Conflux, though, you will need to unlock the beginning of the Endless Ragnarok story beats.

The beginning of the Endless Ragnarok story beats also puts you on the path to unlock the other new systems of the DLC like the new weapon upgrades, Summons, Master Traits, and more! To reach that point, you’ll need to clear Relink’s story as a baseline and keep progressing until you encounter and complete a quest called “The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage”.

For those wondering about unlocking the new characters, here’s a rundown of how you can get each of them:

  • Beatrix and Eustace – Trade Crewmate Cards at the Knicknack Shack
  • Gallanza and Maglielle – Progress through Hard-difficulty quests in Chapter 0 of Endless Ragnarok until a certain cutscene plays. You’ll then obtain their unique Crewmate Cards.
  • Fraux and Fediel – You can get them via Crewmate Cards, but if you wait until a certain part of the new Endless Ragnarok quests, you will get a quest for each one, which will reward you with the necessary materials to unlock them

Tips for Unlocking Endless Ragnarok

As mentioned, you unlock a significant amount of the DLC by beating “The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage,” but, you see, this is honestly easier said than done, especially if you’re a new player. This is because “The Tale of Bahamut’s Rage” is a PROUD tier quest, which is the highest difficulty quest tier in the Relink base game.

HOWEVER, despite how it may sound like, this will only be a real problem if you try and rush the story quests carelessly. We highly recommend that you still go through the motions of the base game, as the base game does an awesome job in easing you through the increasing difficulty tiers by making you familiar with fight mechanics and gimmicks.

Play through the quests while making sure to level your weapons, learning your masteries, and equipping powerful sigils as you get them. Whenever you feel like you need a lot of materials to upgrade, always remember to check the Conflux to get the materials you need faster.

If you want to speed things up even more, try matchmake online or, better yet, get a friend who’s at the endgame to help you beat the quests!

For new players, we truly hope that you can take the time to go through the motions of the base game, as it really is worth it. Granblue Fantasy: Relink is such a great action RPG experience, so be sure to take it in sufficiently as well and enjoy. Once you’ve caught up, a whole new endgame awaits you and your friends to conquer!

Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok is available now on PS5, PS4, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
