Following its reveal last year, Disney+ recently announced that Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi will premiere on August 6.
In case you missed it, Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 was released in October last year, but that wasn’t the only new Star Wars animated project revealed at Celebration Japan 2025. There’s also The Ninth Jedi, a new 8-episode limited series. This is the first project in the “Star Wars: Visions Presents” banner, and it’s expected to consist of spin-off shows based on specific Star Wars: Visions episodes.
For the first “Presents” series, we’re going back to The Ninth Jedi, the fifth episode of Volume 1, which was made by Production I.G. This new limited series sees Production I.G return alongside Kenji Kamiyama, who serves as the show’s supervising director.
Kamiyama was joined by director Shunsuke Tada and producer Hitoshi Ito at Anime Expo 2026. There, the show’s release date and new trailer were shared.

This series sees Lah Kara continue to train in the way of the Jedi under Margrave Juro. Soon, Kara goes on a quest with Juro’s other Jedi-in-training to save her father.
