Families are looking forward to the new Xiaomi EV SkyNomad as it brings functions you’d expect from a mobile living room. Recently unveiled as the SkyNomad, this second product series under the brand represents a distinct departure from the “driver’s car” philosophy found in the SU7 and YU7 lines.
Instead, the SkyNomad is positioned as an intelligent, reconfigurable, large-space SUV designed primarily to prioritize the comfort and well-being of the people inside. The series aims to transform the vehicle into a living space that adapts seamlessly across the different hours of a day, addressing a market shift where users now work, rest, or travel for hours at a time, effectively treating their car as a second home.
At the core of this transformation is the all-new Kunlun Architecture, developed specifically to enable a highly reconfigurable interior. This technical foundation features a flat floor and a sophisticated long-track seating system, allowing the cabin to switch effortlessly between standard driving modes and specialized parked modes that serve as a workspace, a lounge, or a family activity area. By integrating AI with the company’s established smart-device ecosystem and advanced manufacturing capabilities, Founder and CEO Lei Jun describes the result as a “living interior that moves with you,” where intelligence ultimately defines the physical space.
SkyNomad targets buyers who need one vehicle to cover daily commuting, family travel, and occasional work-from-car use, not a lifestyle statement, but a flexible tool that adapts across roles. The series is designed for professionals and parents alike, not as separate categories, but as the same person across different hours of the day.
Xiaomi SkyNomad Series will soon launch in Chinese mainland, the result of three and a half years of development. Stay tuned for more news.
