Ahhh Christmas! That time of year when you can just rest up and game your heart away… but Christmas ain’t Christmas without the STEAM HOLIDAY SALE and it’s finally here which is good news for you… but bad news for your wallet 😀

From December 18 – January 2, STEAM will be having games for sale at mind-blowing tiered-discounts! To break it down even further, here’s what’s gonna happen:

  1. Every day, new games will be up for sale
  2. Every 12 hours, Flash sales will happen – these are special games that will go on sale with a special discount until the flash sale is done (Flash sales are usually really good deals in terms of price)
  3. Every 24 hours, Community Choice sales happen. 3 games will go on sale but ONE of them will have a greater discount than the rest. That ONE GAME is determined by the community. You get to vote on any of the 3 games. The game with the most votes becomes the Community Choice.

You can monitor the sales and look at the discussions regarding the games on sale at www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals. I’d suggest you heed their advice about these sales:

“Until the last day of the sale (check the countdowns on each game page), DON’T BUY A GAME UNLESS IT’S A DAILY DEAL, FLASH SALE, OR COMMUNITY CHOICE. If a game is a daily deal, flash sale, or community choice THE PRICE WILL NOT GO LOWER. Additionally, major titles are most likely going to be all three at least once.”
