Apart from all the anime and geek-related merchandise that we are so blessed in purchasing year after year, you know that part of their culture is celebrating all things weird and fun… And, if at times they need to settle something important, what do they do? – They settle it in game shows of course!
But just when you thought you’ve seen it all in the land of the rising sun… There’s this!
What looks like a normal game of Janken (Rock-Paper-Scissors), for this idol group AKB48 this is everything to them!
Now on its 6th year, these idol groups have been throwing it down for the prestigious Janken Taikai (Taikai = Tournament) complete with cosplay and a cheering crowd! This is certainly a big event not only for the idols, but for the fans as well.

So you might wonder, at a celebration of this magnitude certainly the prize should be just as epic right? Well to those who want to join in the future, it’s interesting to know that the top prize nets the RPS champ a center-stage opportunity as the main idol in an upcoming spin-off girl group!
