VR Zone Shinjuku is located in Shinjuku Kabukicho Tokyo and will be opening its doors to the public on Friday, July 14The facility will have over 15 activities including ones based on well-known IPs such as:

  • Dragon Ball VR “Master the Kamehameha”
  • Evangelion VR “The Throne of Souls”
  • Ghost in the Shell Arise: Stealth Hounds
  • MARIO KART ARCADE GP VR

Evangelion VR “The Throne of Souls”

Mario Kart Arcade GP VR

It’s not just limited to that, of course. They’ll also have a wide range of new non-IP VR activities like going on a winged bicycle, doing a dinosaur survival run, etc. It’s one HUGE VR extravaganza. In addition to that, you can also get souvenirs and have themed food and drinks!

Virtual Resort… ZOMG @__@

The place is supposed to look visually stunning as well as Bandai Namco partners with NAKED, a popular digital art group for projection mappings within the facility. For example: outside will feature a projection of PAC-MAN while inside will be an interactable ‘Centre Tree’.

While VR Zone Shinjuku will be the flagship of this type of entertainment facilities, Bandai Namco plans to install their VR activities in over 20 locations worldwide in order to spread VR entertainment to a larger audience. For now though, you might want to start booking trips to Japan for those geeky getaways 😉
