The DC Superhero Café is Here, and it is MASSIVE! An Ungeek Sneak Peek

Shed your alter egos and head over to the geekiest place in town!

What a time to be alive! The first officially-licensed DC Superheroes Café is about to open its doors to the public and we just got a sneak peek on what the whole space is all about.

Similar to the its Singapore counterpart, the Philippine branch is a space for all things DC geekery! From exciting DC-themed nooks to comic-referenced snacks like Big Belly Burgers and Jitters, the Superhero Café at SM Megamall has it all.

It’s a massive space at the 4th floor of SM Megamall’s Fashion Hall and the venue can house approximately 78 people at any given time. That’s a lot of fans getting their geek on with top-notch food options, picturesque space and, most importantly, loads of DC memorabilia and items up for grabs.

We were fortunate enough to try a handful of selections from their ever-growing menu that was conceptualized from the ground-up. Here are a few quirky ones presented to us:

The food and drinks menu were conceptualized by Chef Mikel Zaguirre of Locavore Kitchen x Drinks and Chef Kalel Demetrio of Liquido Maestro and each selection really took into account the personalities of the various iconic DC characters. Like, say, the Arthur Curry’s…seafood curry, Poison Ivy’s devilishly delicious Pretty Poison dessert or this Wonder Woman milkshake.

BEST. NAME. EVER. Seafood Curry by…Arthur Curry

And what would be a visit without checking out a few wares.

Edric Ivan Chua, Founder and Managing Director of FrontierGadgets, Inc. – the guys behind Ekonic, the lifestyle brand that creates hero-inspired collectible gadgets like DC-inspired speakers, and headsets– is one of the guys behind bringing the DC Superheroes Café to Philippines.

“As a fan, it’s really hard to stay objective all the time”, said Edric when asked what the hardest part of was in bringing the DC Superheroes Café to the Philippines. Admittedly he wanted to put so much easter eggs on the cafe that he hadSelf-confessed geek, this isn’t the first time he’s worked with DC and Warner Brother’s licensing. In fact, aside from the various DC-branded speakers and headsets that Ekonic offers, his company is the one responsible in creating the first-ever Justice League Mobile Phone that was launched and offered through Smart Communications some time last year.  I guess, this is another first DC-themed offering Edric is giving to the Philippines.

Pinoy fans no longer have to book a ticket to Singapore to experience this one-of-a-kind themed café. While themed-cafes are not entirely new (although they are quite scarce), the great thing about this particular themed café is how much love and dedication the team poured into creating the right type of area space, the amazing food and beverage selection and the curation of DC-centric merchandise. Heck even cocktail toothpicks are themed.

The attention to detail is amazing!(also you get to keep the toothpick)

The DC Superheroes Café opens to the public on June 23, 2018. Stay glued to Ungeek as we reveal more details about this other-worldly geek space!
