With SDCC and APCC happening in the weeks to come, Singapore is not to be left behind as the largest pop culture convention in the country – the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention or STGCC – returns bigger and better than ever before! If you missed it last year, here are some highlights to leave you wanting more!

For 2018, STGCC is back on September 8 – 9 as it celebrates Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 10th anniversary by paying tribute to the plethora of action-packed superhero-themed movies that set our screens ablaze this year. Pop culture lovers and comic book fans can expect to meet exciting Marvel and DC creators and artists including:

  • Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding (US), a bonafide superhero alumnus with titles such as Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther to his credit.

  • Comic artist David Finch (Canada) who has contributed to notable Marvel and DC Comics titles such as Batman, New Avengers, Moon Knight, Ultimatum, and Wonder Woman.

  • Eisner-nominated comic illustrator and designer Mark Brooks (UK) who recently unveiled his uber-cool rendition of the Batmobile for the Detective Comics series

Hold up, STGCC ain’t STGCC without some kick-ass cosplay and anime fans will be thrilled to know that the following celebrities will be attending the event:

  • Character designer Range Murata (JP)  known for anime series such as Blue Submarine No.6, LASTEXILE, Shangri-La.

  • Musical artist and composer YUC’e (JP) who has contributed to rhythm games such as beatmania IIDX and SEGA’s CHUNITHM.

Speaking of cosplay, which has always been an STGCC highlight, the organizers have upped the cosplay game by collaborating with Singer to give fans the opportunity create and produce their very own fantasy ensemble in the Singer Experience Zone! Just like Clark Kent’s swift transformation into Superman, fans can quickly assemble their own geek superhero cape in any of the four Singer telephone booths that will provide up to 1,000 capes for fans to sew together and flaunt their geek powers!

STGCC happens at the Marina Bay Sands Expo on September 8-9 so make sure to get your passes now!
