Relax, Huawei reassures continued customer support amidst report

Finally, some good news for Huawei users!

Following the report earlier where Google suspended some of its business with Huawei, the tech company has released its official statement. The statement reassures current Huawei and Honor users that their smartphone, as well as smartphone available in stores right now, will continue to be supported through security updates and after-sales services.

Read the official statement here:

Huawei has made substantial contributions to the development and growth of Android around the world. As one of Android’s key global partners, we have worked closely with their open-source platform to develop an ecosystem that has benefitted both users and the industry.

Huawei will continue to provide security updates and after-sales services to all existing Huawei and Honor smartphone and tablet products, covering those that have been sold and that are still in stock globally.

We will continue to build a safe and sustainable software ecosystem, in order to provide the best experience for all users globally.

With this statement, current Huawei/Honor owners fears should be allayed regarding the recent report. Though it remains to be seen how future Huawei and Honor devices will be affected.

Aside from a statement by Huawei, the country’s major telcos, PLDT and Globe, recently released statements as well regarding their continued support of Huawei devices availed through them.
