WATCH: Character trailer for Persona 5 The Royal’s new character — Kasumi Yoshizawa
Details on the game's limited edition were also revealed!
Following the official reveal of Persona 5 The Royal last April, ATLUS recently released a new trailer for P5R. Specifically, it’s a preview video for the game’s new character, Kasumi Yoshizawa.

The new trailer showcases Kasumi Yoshizawa’s interactions with the protagonist, as well as combat footage of Kasumi in action. In the short combat clips, we get to see Kasumi’s Persona, “Cendrillon” (or Cinderella), as well as her Metaverse outfit.
Now as for the character herself, Kasumi (who is voiced by Sora Amamiya) is a student of Shujin Academy who transferred to the school around the same time as the protagonist. Though she likes Joker, she seems to not be in favor of the Phantom Thieves. We don’t know yet if she’ll be an ally or an enemy of Joker and company.
Aside from showing Kasumi in action, the trailer also featured the first of the 20 new songs made specifically for Persona 5 The Royal. Alongside the trailer, ATLUS also revealed details on the Persona 5 The Royal Limited Edition, which includes the following:
- Illustrated Luxury Special box
- Persona 5 The Royal Setting Reference Materials Collection
- Persona 5 The Royal Soundtrack
- T-Shirt with design by P-Studio
- Phantom Thieves Costume DLC Set
In case you’re unfamiliar, Persona 5 The Royal is an updated re-release of the original Persona 5 (much like Persona 3 FES and Persona 4: Golden). P5R will not only feature a new character, it will also include new locations, NPCs, combat attacks, cinematics, and many more.
Persona 5 The Royal will be released in Japan on October 31, 2019 for the PS4. A Western release of the game will follow in 2020.
