Makoto Shinkai graphic tees available now at Uniqlo's first roadside store in PH

Earlier this month, Uniqlo Philippines announced that the Makoto Shinkai graphic tee collection will be released in the country real soon. Well, today’s the day — the Makoto Shinkai UT collection is available now in the newly-opened Uniqlo Westgate Alabang store.

What’s so special about this new Uniqlo store? Well, it’s the first-ever roadside Uniqlo store in the Philippines; all other outlets in the country are inside or are part of shopping malls.

The Uniqlo Westgate Alabang store officially opens today, and the launch even for it happened just yesterday. As opening its first roadside store in the country is a major milestone, Uniqlo held quite a celebration, complete with a ceremonial “kagami-biraki” (sake barrel ceremony) and a taiko performance.

The festivities were fun and all, but of course, we made a bee-line for the Makoto Shinkai collection. Here’s a first look at the collection:

The collection features seven graphic tees in total — four of which feature designs from Shinkai’s ‘Your Name’ while the rest have designs based on ‘Weathering With You’. Now, if this branch is a bit too far for you, don’t worry as the collection will also release in Uniqlo stores nationwide on August 19.

Aside from the Makoto Shinkai collection, the large 1,518 square meter store also has a wide range of UT lines. Some of the UT collections that stood out for us include the One Piece, The Game Classic Pixels (which had Pac-Man, Contra, Sonic, and other designs), and the Ukiyo-e collection.

Given its size, the Westgate Alabang store is also one of the most well-stocked Uniqlo branches we’ve seen so far. If you’re looking for a specific line or item of clothing, this branch will most likely have it!

UNIQLO Westgate Alabang is located at Alabang-Zapote Road in Westgate Development Filinvest City. The store is open from 10.00am – 10.00pm every day.

For the opening weekend (August 16 to 18) UNIQLO Westgate Alabang will be open from
9.00am-10.00pm, and shoppers can receive a limited-edition UNIQLO dry bag with a minimum purchase of P3,000. Shoppers will also be treated to lots of exclusive limited offers until August 22.
