One of the most influential manga/anime titles during the 90’s, Slam Dunk will return in an upcoming anime film that is expected to release next year.
This news comes from the creator himself, Takehiko Inoue in a new teaser video which you can check out below:
Takehiko Inoue will write and direct the movie, so you know it will be in the best hands possible. Honestly, seeing the Shohoku team back in a huddle is one nostalgic trip that gave me a lot of good memories of a much simpler time some 20 years ago… Time to re-watch the whole series aagain!
The tease is a follow-up to an earlier tweet he made last January 7, 2021.

The consistency of Takehiko Inoue’s post really gives me hope that we will definitely see brand-new content coming from the franchise. Though not much has been spoiled in terms of story and a solid release date, I just hope that they continue the Inter-High Tournament or make a brand new story telling what happened after the manga.
Nevertheless, Slam Dunk is back and fans are hungry!
