The first season of The Witcher released back in December 2019, and it covered events that happen early into the book series’ timeline. Specifically, the first season’s events are based on the short stories in The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny books. With the second season though, the show is set to cover events that happen in the main Witcher Saga, starting from Blood of Elves.

Season 2’s premise is described as:

“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

The Witcher Season 2 releases on Netflix on December 17, 2021.
