The King of Fighters XV Open Beta coming to PlayStation consoles

    The beta features 8 playable characters, with online and offline modes supported.

    This weekend, the upcoming fighting game The King of Fighters XV (KOF XV) is holding an Open Beta Test on PlayStation consoles.

    The KOF XV Beta will be playable on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, and it will feature crossplay between both consoles. Participants of the beta will be able to try out both online (casual match, room match) and offline (versus, training, tutorial) modes. Plus, the beta’s online mode won’t need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play.

    The Open Beta test is scheduled at the following times and dates:

    • PST: November 19th 19:00 – November 22nd 6:59
    • CET: November 20th 4:00 – November 22nd 15:59
    • JST: November 20th 12:00 – November 22nd 23:59
    • PHT: November 20th 11:00 – November 22nd 22:59

    KOF XV is the latest entry in SNK’s long-running King of Fighters fighting game series, and it is the first in the series to use Unreal Engine 4 and GGPO rollback networking. The game was revealed back in Evo 2019, and was originally set to release in 2020.

    The King of Fighters XV will release on February 17, 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store).
