It has been a year now since Elden Ring’s release, and finally, FromSoftware announced the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.

The upcoming expansion was announced via the game’s official Twitter account and on the game’s Japanese website. While the announcement confirmed the long-awaited DLC for the game, it did not feature much in the way of info. There’s even now news on a potential release date.

Though the interesting thing about it is that the reveal came with a new visual that has a lot of clues regarding what the expansion will be about.

Based on the visual, the expansion seems to add a huge now location, complete with what seems like a charred Erdtree (or some other great tree) with gold dripping out of it.

Though what’s more interesting is that at the bottom right, you can see a character riding atop Torrent or at least a similar-looking steed. This character seems to be none other than Miquella, the brother of Malenia and one of the most intriguing character of Elden Ring. This is despite not appearing at all in the game.

If this expansion will be about Miquella, this should definitely be a must-play for fans. Though we likely will have to wait a while given that there’s no info yet on a release date. Fingers crossed that we won’t have to wait until 2024 to play it.

Elden Ring is out now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
