Warner Bros. Pictures Philippines and Encore Films just confirmed that Makoto Shinkai’s latest film “Suzume” is coming to PH cinemas soon!

The film’s long-awaited Philippine release was announced recently via Warner Bros and Encore Films’ official Facebook pages. There, it was confirmed that Suzume will be released in cinemas across the Philippines.

Though there’ currently no word yet on which cinemas will screen the film. Though given that Weathering With You got a wide release, we’re hoping that would also be the case for Suzume.

Suzume (or Suzume no Tojimari in Japan) is the latest film from Makoto Shinkai, the renowned director of Your Name and Weathering With You.

His new film follows a high school girl who must journey with a mysterious young man across Japan to stop a series of disasters that will befall the country.

The film was released in Japan back in November, and it became a major hit, both critically and commercially. Recently, the film was also selected to be part of the main competition at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival.

Right now though, there’s no word yet on a release date for Suzume in the Philippines. Though given that the film is set to release this March in select countries in Asia, we expect to see the film get released sometime in March in the PH as well.
