After its reveal earlier this month, Netflix announced the release date of its upcoming Korean post-apocalyptic series, Black Knight.

Specifically, this new Korean series from the streaming giant will be released on May 12, meaning fans of K-dramas will have an interesting new show to look forward to soon.

Along with the series’ release date reveal, Netflix shared a new teaser poster that gives us more of an idea of what to expect. Check it out here:

As you may have expected given the poster, Black Knight is a series that’s set in a post-apocalyptic landscape. Specifically, it will follow the legendary deliveryman 5-8 as he takes on a powerful group. In this dystopian Korea, the outside world is uninhabitable, and everyone relies on brave deliverymen to transport supplies and other essentials.

In a way, you can think of this like a live-action Death Stranding, albeit with air pollution instead of Timefall.

Netflix describes the series’ premise as:

The series follows the journey of refugee Sa-wol, and the legendary deliveryman 5-8, as he takes on the all-powerful Cheonmyeong Group in a dystopian version of Korea. The country is ravaged by extreme air pollution, rendering it uninhabitable without an oxygen mask.

The series stars Kim Woo-bin who plays the legendary deliveryman ‘5-8’. He is joined by Song Seung-heon as the heir to the Cheonmyeong Group, Kang You-seok as a boy who dreams of becoming a deliveryman, and Esom as the Defense Intelligence Command major.

The Black Knight release date is on May 12, and it will be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
