Ahead of its premiere next week, Kojima Production finally released the first official trailer for the Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds documentary.

In case you missed its reveal, Connecting Worlds is a documentary that will show an exclusive look at the creative process of Hideo Kojima, one of the foremost auteurs in the video game industry.

While Kojima already has his Brain Structure podcast and books, this documentary promises to be a must-see for Kojima fans as it will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of Death Stranding. It will also feature notable creators in other fields as they discuss what makes Kojima and his games so unique.

HIDEO KOJIMA: CONNECTING WORLDS takes you on a journey into the creative mind of the most iconic video game creator in the world. Widely regarded as the first auteur of video games, this visually captivating documentary gives a rare insight into Hideo Kojima’s creative process as he launches his own independent studio. Featuring contributions from visionary artists such as Guillermo del Toro, Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, George Miller, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches and many others, this thoughtful film explores the power and potential of video games as an art form through the work of an influential talent revered by millions worldwide.

Hideo Kojima: Connecting Worlds will premiere at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival on June 17, 2023. The premiere will happen at 5 PM Eastern time at the The Indeed Theatre at Spring Studios. Tickets can be purchased at the Tribeca Film Festival website, and after the screening, there will be a Q&A with Kojima.

Currently, there’s no word yet on when and on which platform the documentary will be released in following its premiere.
