SEGA reveals more details on Samba de Amigo: Party Central

Bringing a party aspect to the usual dance game

ONE Store Beta Now Available

It’s been a quite some time since Samba de Amigo: Party Central has been first announced and, now, we’re just about a month until the game comes out. In case you’ve been curious to know more about the game, SEGA has recently released more information regarding its gameplay and more.

Samba de Amigo: Party Central is a rhythm game for the Nintendo Switch that utilizes the Joy-Cons to serve as maracas to let you groove to the beat. However, the gameplay actually has more nuances to it that makes it interesting. Here’s a breakdown on the details that SEGA revealed:

Maracas Madness!

Using the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, you’ll line them up with dots on the screen at the right angle and shake them at the right moment. Basic gameplay will let you groove to the beat and strike some poses to hit songs from various genres.

Rhythm balls will be appearing on-screen in sync with the music being played. As soon as they line-up and enter a designated zone, just match the angle and shake. That’s not the only type of note you’ll be asked to pull off, however, as there will also be Rapid notes / beats, Slide notes where you have to trace the shape on-screen with your Joy-Cons, and Pose prompts that will have you imitate a pose. As a series-first, Dance prompts have also been added where you’ll need to move based on what’s being shown on screen.

And yes, more tracks will be added as DLC after the game is released.

Time to Party

Samba de Amigo: Party Central brings a party aspect to the usual dance game as it has added “Happening” prompts that aims to increase the fun factor of each performance. When you hit the “?” note during the game, a roulette wheel will appear which will start a mini-game which you’ll need to also complete. A nice party twist that’ll make for fun gatherings and gaming sessions! There are more than fifteen exciting mini-games, including exercises, popular TikTok hand dances, and high-fives!

Of course, if you prefer to not have that, the game does allow you to turn the Happening feature off.
