SEGA celebrates Sonic Superstars release with events in Southeast Asia

Sonic Superstars is out now, and to celebrate, SEGA has a lineup of events and collabs in Southeast Asia for Sonic fans in the region.

Specifically, SEGA announced a collaboration with YoYo Land in Bangkok, Thailand along with an upcoming online tournament for gaming influencers in SEA.

In case you missed it, Sonic Superstars is the latest entry in the long-running Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Unlike Frontiers, this game is a 2D sidescrolling title that harkens back to the classic Genesis/Mega Drive era for the Sonic seires.

SEGA describes the game as:

“Sonic Superstars is a brand-new high-speed action game that combines the classic feel of the 2D side-scrolling Sonic series with crisp 3D graphics.

A new adventure begins for Sonic and his pals, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles, in the mysterious Northstar Islands, inhabited by gigantic creatures. With your newfound Emerald Powers, stop Dr. Eggman and Fang, who plan to use these creatures for their devious schemes!”

Sonic Superstar Events and Collabs in Southeast Asia Revealed

To commemorate the launch of the game, SEGA announced the Sonic Superstars x YoYo Land Collaboration which is happening from October 23 to November 12, 2023.

YoYo Land is an amusement and theme park located in F4, Seacon Square Srinakarin, Bangkok, Thailand. More details can be found on the YoYo Land Facebook page.

Then there’s the Fast Friends SEA Showdown, an online tournament happening from October 17 to November 14, 2023. Here, influencers from across Southeast Asia will take part in a digital tournament.
