Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is officially Steam Deck Verified
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be fully playable on the Steam Deck!
Ahead of the game’s launch, it was confirmed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is Steam Deck Verified, meaning it will be playable on Valve’s handheld.
For those unfamiliar, Valve has four categories for Steam Deck compatibility. This makes sense given that the Steam Deck does not run Windows out of the box. Instead, it runs on SteamOS which is based on Linux, but with the Proton compatibility layer for the device to play many but not all Steam games for Windows.
The key category that Steam Deck users take note of is Verified. A game that’s Steam Deck Verified means it is fully compatible with the device out of the box, as tested by Valve. There’s also Playable which means there may be some tweaking involved to run it, as well as Unsupported which means a game is totally not functional on the Deck. Finally, there’s Unknown which is a game that hasn’t been checked by Valve yet.
With Infinite Wealth being Steam Deck Verified, Like a Dragon fans will be happy to know that they can play Ichiban and Kiryu’s next adventure wherever they go.
This is quite a surprise given how Infinite Wealth promises to be the biggest game in the series. Though this makes sense given that many of the Dragon Engine Yakuza games are Verified on the Deck.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC on January 26, 2024.
