The First Slam Dunk returns to Philippine cinemas at Japan Film Festival 2024 this February

Slam Dunk fans are in for a treat as the Japan Film Festival 2024 is bringing back The First Slam Dunk to cinemas in the Philippines this February for free. This is no doubt great news for fans who missed the movie’s theatrical run in January 2023, as well as its limited December return at the SUGOI ANIME FEST.

As an adaptation of the pivotal match between Shohoku and Sannoh, this movie is a must-watch for any and every Slam Dunk fans. Plus, it’s also surprisingly a nice entry point to the series as you can appreciate and enjoy it even without watching the 90s anime or reading the manga.

For those who want to watch (or rewatch) the film on the big screen, Japan Film Festival 2024 will bring the movie to the following theaters:

  • SM Seaside City Cebu
  • SM City Davao

Currently, the film’s Shangri-La Red Carpet Cinema schedule is as follows:

  • 1 February – 7:30 PM
  • 4 February – 3:00 PM
  • 10 February – 5:10 PM
  • 11 February – 2:55 PM
