OPPO Reno11 F 5G: The Compelling New Mid-Range Portrait Expert

The OPPO Reno11 F 5G is coming to the PH soon, and it promises to be a more wallet-friendly portrait expert!

ONE Store Beta Now Available

After launching the Reno11 series 5G in the Philippines just recently, OPPO is back with another phone, and this time it’s the more affordable entry into the series – the OPPO Reno11 F 5G.

Even though it’s the most wallet-friendly of OPPO’s new mid-range lineup, it’s still a promising mid-ranger that should deserve the Portrait Expert title. That’s because this phone is also designed to take great portrait photos.

Given this promise, we tested out the OPPO Reno11 F 5G to see if it does live up to its Portrait Expert tagline. After all, we had high expectations for it based on our experience with the Reno11 5G, as well as the previous generation Reno devices.

So, does it deliver for portrait photography? Yes, very much so!

The Portrait Expert, Now Made More Wallet-Friendly

For this latest device, OPPO packed the Reno11 F 5G with a triple rear shooter setup that consists of a 64 MP, f/1.7 main camera that’s complemented by an 8 MP, f/2.2 ultrawide and a 2 MP, f/2.4 macro shooter.

According to OPPO, the man shooter is an “Ultra Clear” camera that should capture great images that have balanced lighting and color. On top of this, the phone also features the Portrait Expert Engine which is AI trained by artists to produce authentic-looking portraits with a natural bokeh effect as well as the right exposure, white balance, and skin tone.

With all these technologies, the Reno11 F 5G should take great portraits. After testing it, we found that it definitely delivers in this regard.

As you can see in the samples above, the Reno11 F 5G takes eye-catching portraits in places with both natural and indoor light. Even when we tried taking portraits near or a bit far from the subject, the portraits turned out great as the background and the subject had good separation. There’s also the fact that the photos have proper exposure and good colors.

It’s also worth noting that the photos don’t suffer much from fuzziness when it comes to the edges of the subject. Other phones struggle with this as some parts don’t blur properly. In our time with the Reno11 F 5G, that shouldn’t be an issue for most users.

We also like how natural the background blur effects look, not to mention how effortless it is to get that eye-catching bokeh light effect in the background even in bright lighting conditions. Though take note that when taking photos, the blur may seem a bit unnatural in the preview, but when you actually see it after the processing is complete, you’ll see how good the results actually are.

Even though the Reno11 F 5G is not marketed for night portrait photography, we tested it out to see how well it performs. It turns out that the phone can also excel in this regard.

As seen in the samples above, night portrait shots have good exposure and colors for the subject, all while having a nice background blur with nice-looking bokeh light effects. Of course, you’ll still need a light source to keep the subject lit, but the results are quite nice overall.

To top it all off, the experience of using the Reno 11F 5G for portrait photography is a hassle-free one. Thanks to how smart the Portrait Expert Engine is, you basically just need to point and shoot, and you’ll get great results. No need to tinker with settings to get the perfect shot.

Not only is this helpful for beginners, but it’s also great as the automatic nature of it means you can focus more on the subject and the scene.

Reno11 F 5G Cameras: Also Great for Landscape Photography

Aside from being great for portrait photography, we found that the OPPO Reno11 F 5G also delivers when it comes to landscape photography, both in daytime and at night.

For instance, check out some of the landscape shots we took here:

In the daytime, photo quality is great as lots of detail is preserved, not to mention that colors are vibrant while still being accurate. Indoor shots in good lighting are also nice as expected from the 64MP Ultra Clear camera.

The landscape performance is also great at night when using the Night Mode feature. This is especially helpful when you’re taking a photo of a night scene with lots of different colored lights.

What’s also surprising is that the 8MP ultra-wide camera also works great, even at night as you can see here:

The ultrawide shooter excels in the daytime, but as you can see, the shots at night are also quite good. These photos still have a lot of detail and are exposed well.

Again, much like the experience with portraits, the Reno11 F 5G is also incredibly easy to take landscape photos with. Great news for those who want to get into photography who may be a bit overwhelmed with various manual options.

Also a Reliable Daily Driver

Having great cameras is one thing, but the Reno11 F 5G is the complete package as it is also a reliable daily driver. This is thanks in large part to the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 processor – the same as the one on the Reno11 5G. With this, the phone can run day-to-day tasks with ease, all while having enough power for today’s popular games.

If you’re more of a binge-watcher of shows/movies instead of gaming, you’ll also be happy to know that the OPPO Reno11 F 5G has a large 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. Thanks to the AMOLED panel, the phone’s screen outputs vibrant colors and deep blacks, making it a great partner for binge-watching.

Finally, the Reno11F 5G packs a large 5,000mAh battery which will let you play games, watch shows, and take photos all day with ease. If you need to charge, the phone also supports 67W wired fast charging which can fill the phone up to 100% in just 48 minutes.

OPPO Reno11 F 5G to Launch in the Philippines on March 12

It’s fair to say that the OPPO Reno11 F 5G is worthy of the Portrait Expert title thanks to its various features that enable it to capture eye-catching portraits with ease.

Moreover, the cameras are also great for landscape and other kinds of photography. All of this without sacrificing everyday usability.

Even though this phone will be the most wallet-friendly Reno11 5G device when it launches, it did not skimp out on features, making it another compelling mid-range option for users in the market for a new phone.

The OPPO Reno11 F 5G will be launched in the Philippines on March 12, 2024. There, the Reno11 F 5G’s price will be announced, along with a bunch of special offers that will be available when the phone gets released.
