Following its previous announcement, Disney+ today announced that the upcoming series Alien: Earth will premiere on the platform on August 13, 2025.
It’s fair to say that last year’s Alien: Romulus was a big movie for the storied sci-fi horror franchise. After all, not only did it get great results at the global box office, but it also helped see a resurgence in Alien’s popularity. In fact, gamers were delighted when, after the Romulus theatrical run, a sequel to Alien: Isolation was announced (while those may not be exactly related, they both definitely helped in driving more Alien discussions online).
We won’t see the Alien: Isolation sequel or the Romulus sequel anytime soon, but fans at least have Alien: Earth to look forward to. For those who missed its reveal, this new live-action series is set two years before the events of the first Alien movie. As such, it’s a prequel to the OG Alien, though its events take place after Prometheus and Alien: Covenant.
The series’ premise is described as:
In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype, named “Wendy,” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.
The series stars Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, Alex Lawther, Samuel Blenkin, Babou Ceesay, Adrian Edmondson, David Rysdahl, Essie Davis, Lily Newmark, Erana James, Adarsh Gourav, Jonathan Ajayi, Kit Young, Diêm Camille, Moe Bar-El, and Sandra Yi Sencindiver.

Alien: Earth will premiere on August 13 on Disney+ in the Philippines and other select regions. Meanwhile, the show will air on the FX network and stream on FX on Hulu in the US.
