Solo Leveling wins Anime of the Year at Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025

In what is a surprising result for many anime fans, Solo Leveling took home the top prize at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2025.

The awards ceremony happened in Tokyo yesterday, May 25, and it features an array of notable presenters and exciting musical performances. Fitting, especially given that this awards event was huge. After all, the awards got a record 51 million votes cast by fans worldwide via the Anime Awards website.

The big winner of the event is no doubt Solo Leveling, as the anime took home nine awards, including Anime of the Year. Other big winners include Frieren and Dandadan, with four and three awards, respectively.
