HONOR 400 5G presents an exciting time for HONOR as they enter the next phase of their brand evolution with a more robust and consumer-facing AI features. What’s more pleasantly surprising, perhaps, is that the brand decided to mark this AI evolution with their midrange release: the HONOR 400 5G.
Ever since the HONOR 90 5G, we have been happy with the brand’s midrange tier devices – providing ample and (for 2 years in a row) surprising tech on a device that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
In the past, brands tend to lump all their cool tech innovations and showcase them on just their flagship devices. This will later on trickle down to their midrange and eventually (some form at least) will be made available for entry-level devices a couple of years down the line. That’s not the case anymore and we first saw that with the HONOR 200’s Harcourt Studio Portrait Photography partnership.
Now we’re seeing another first from the brand with their AI Image to Video functionality where they can turn (almost) any still photography into 5-second videos. This is reportedly the first smartphone that has this capability baked-into their system.
While most AI photo enhancing/ editing features of the HONOR 400 5G still requires you to be connected to the web, you don’t have to download a 3rd party program to effectively use these amazing programs. The phone also benefits from a large 200MP main camera with AI SuperZoom and a 12MP Ultrawide Camera to capture your everyday adventures clearly.
Elevating Portrait to new AI Heights

The HONOR 400 5G follows the focus of the series on Portrait Photography and gives it a natural evolution from creating iconic Studio-level Portrait shots to making them move ala Harry Potter. And while the series is void of the “Magic” moniker that’s reserved for their flagship line, the tech inside this quite lovely 6.55” golden-chic smartphone is nothing short of magical.
The HONOR 400 5G officially launches on June 17, 2025 with crazy pre-order bonuses and a chance to win either a 600,000 Peso Rolex GMT Master II Luxury Watch or a 420,000 Peso Hermes Lindy Mini. Mind. Blown.
