At the Xbox Games Showcase, ROG & Xbox announced a new handheld coming this Holiday Season (at least in the US and the rest of the Western World): the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. From the teaser trailer, it seems that ROG redesigned the entire device adding better grips and ergonomics as well as fitting it with the next generation of AMD Ryzen™ Z2 Processors with the ROG Xbox Ally getting an AMD Ryzen™ Z2 A Processor and the ROG Xbox Ally X getting an AMD Ryzen™ AI Z2 Extreme Processor.
This new handheld harnesses the wide library of Xbox Game Pass with the flexibility of Windows 11 allowing you to play pretty much all the games in your library (with Xbox Game Pass games being optimized for the console). According to Sarah Bond, Xbox President, the ROG Xbox Ally Series should allow you to play all the games that premiered during the Xbox Games Showcase. While the ROG Xbox Ally should give you balanced gameplay while extending the battery life, the ROG Xbox Ally X is your handheld console in full throttle. According to the brand, the device promises to give better gaming experience including greater frames per second, sharp visuals, and increased intelligence — with double the storage for more native games at your fingertips, and 24GB of high-speed RAM that more demanding games crave.
No word yet on Philippine release, but considering how well the reception of the ROG Ally Series here was, we’re hoping we get it the same time as with the rest of the world as well.
