Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Entertainment recently shared a new gameplay deep dive for The Blood of Dawnwalker.
For those who missed it, Blood of Dawnwalker is an upcoming game by Rebel Wolves, a studio founded by Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Joining Tomaszkiewicz are various core team members of The Witcher 3 and its expansions, making this an exciting release for action RPG fans.
While the initial reveal did not come with much info, the game finally got a meaty gameplay overview, giving us a look at the traversal, directional combat, magic systems, and the protagonist’s vampiric abilities.
Note that the gameplay footage is from the latest pre-beta build of the game (built on Unreal Engine 5), meaning it’s not the final look of the game. On the flip side, Rebel Wolves mentioned that there was no post-capture cleanup done, as the studio is committed to “transparent and honest communication” with players.
Check out the gameplay deep dive here:
Shown in the gameplay overview is Vale Sangora, the game’s setting which features large cities along with beautiful landscapes and abandoned ruins. The world also promises to have various secrets for players to uncover.
Players take on role of Coen, a Dawnwalker who is neither fully human nor entirely vampire. In daytime, Coen wields a sword and use magical runes, but at night, he unlocks a set of vampiric abilities.
The recent gameplay deep dive gave us a better idea of what to expect, though Rebel Wolves said that even more info will be revealed soon.
The Blood of Dawnwalker will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. More info can be found on the official website.
