Samsung announces Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip 7 price and availability details in the Philippines

Samsung's latest foldables promise to be the most advanced Galaxy Z series devices yet!

After various teasers, Samsung finally unveiled the new Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip 7 devices in the Philippines, along with their price and pre-order details.

As expected, Samsung revealed the latest generation of its Z Fold and Z Flip smartphones, though the Z Flip7 also comes in an FE version for the first time, giving buyers a slightly more wallet-friendly foldable option.

Meet the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7

The first thing that’s apparent in the new Galaxy Z Fold7 is its size. This is the thinnest and lightest Z Fold device yet, and its slimmer size is definitely noticeable in terms of both looks and in-hand feel. To be exact, the Z Fold7 is just 8.9 mm thick when folded and 4.2 mm thick when unfolded, and it only weighs 215 grams.

Another new thing about the phone is its screen. Inside is an 8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x main display – 11% larger than the previous-generation Z Fold. At the front is a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x cover screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio.

Even though it’s the slimmest and lightest Z Fold device, it should still be a sturdy daily driver as it packs a more durable Armor FlexHinge, as well as Advanced Armor Aluminum that makes it 10% stronger and harder than the older model. Plus, it has a Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protecting the cover screen.

As for its camera setup, the phone has a 200MP wide-angle camera headlining its triple rear shooter setup, complemented by a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP 3x optical zoom telephoto. It also has a 10MP 100° camera on the cover display, and another 10MP shooter on the main screen. With this setup, the Z Fold7 should deliver a flagship level photography experience.

Powering the new Z Fold is a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, promising not only great performance, but also enough power for the phone’s wide array of AI features.

AI is another highlight for this new Samsung phone. That’s because it packs a wide array of AI features, including Photo Assist for smart image editing, Generative Edit for erasing unwanted background objects, and Audio Eraser to eliminate background noise in videos.

Other AI features include an enhanced version of Gemini Live, enabling users to seamlessly type or speak contextual questions and get answers without needing to switch apps. The phone also has Galaxy AI Optimized for Large Screens that allow users to take better advantage of the large main screen.

Samsung introduces two new clamshell foldables: The Galaxy Z Flip7 and Flip7 FE

Next, we have the Z Flip7. This is also the thinnest Z Flip device yet, as it’s only 13.7mm thick when folded. It’s also quite light at just 188 grams. Much like the new Z Fold, the Flip7 also promises to be a sturdy device thanks to its Armor FlexHinge and Armor Aluminum Frame.

Another big improvement is the cover display. This time, Samsung went with a 4.1-inch Super AMOLED cover screen that takes up nearly the entire cover area. Inside meanwhile is a 6.9-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen with a 120Hz Adaptive refresh rate.

This new Z Flip is powered by an Exynos 2500 chipset, complete with a 12GB of RAM and a 4,300mAh battery. These should make the phone a reliable daily driver. As a bonus, Samsung also packed this phone with an array of nifty AI features such as the enhanced Gemini Live.

As for its cameras, the phone has a 50MP main + 12MP ultrawide setup on the cover, with a 10MP selfie shooter on the main display.

As for the Z Flip7 FE, this more affordable options comes with a 6.7-inch Main Display, a 50MP FlexCam, and similar AI features like Now Brief (which gives helpful updates on the cover screen).

The FE has a similar design to the previous-generation Z Flip, meaning it’s a bit thicker than the higher-end Flip7. Still, it should be quite portable when folded.
