Anno 117: Pax Romana is getting a free limited-time demo this September

Anno 117: Pax Romana also got a new trailer for the Albion region.

Ubisoft recently announced that Anno 117: Pax Romana will get a limited-time demo for free in the first half of September.

To be exact, the free demo for the upcoming Anno game will be available to everyone from September 2 to 16 on PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect. During the demo, players can start in Latium – the heartland of the Roman Empire, or in the mysterious province of Albion.

This demo’s announcement comes after the new Anno 117 trailer from gamescom 2025 that puts the spotlight on Albion, the Celtic province. You can check out the new trailer here:

For those unfamiliar with the history of the Roman Empire, the city of Rome is located in the Latium region, making this area the heart of the empire. In contrast, Albion (aka Great Britain) was, in Roman times, a Celtic land. In the game, players can choose to start in Latium or in Albion. The starting point is key as an important mechanic in the game is Romanization, where players can either protect Celtic traditions or reinforce Roman culture and rule.

Whether players start in Albion or explore it later, they can experience the following features in the said land:

  • An Expanded Pantheon of Celtic deities – Players can unlock Celtic gods through the Discovery Tree including Epona, Mercury-Lugus, and Cernunnos.
  • Access to new technology –  Players will be able to access new technologies in this region that can help them shape the province to their ruling style.
  • Romanization – Whether a player chooses to preserve Celtic traditions or advance Roman ambition, these choices will require specific resources.

Anno 117: Pax Romana will be released on November 13, 2025, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC.
