Following its recent launch, Garena announced that HAIKYU!! FLY HIGH is celebrating 819 HAIKYU!! DAY with the launch of fan-favorite Tetsuro Kuroo.
For those wondering why 819 (or August 19) is Haikyu day, here’s a quick explanation. In Japanese, Haikyu means volleyball, but it can also be written in numbers, with 8 being “ha” (short for hachi), 1 being “i” (short for ichi), and 9 for “kyu.”
As such, the HAIKYU!! DAY celebration in the new mobile game will run from August 17 to 21, 2025. As part of the celebration, Garena will give players various gifts, including 819 Diamonds, 81,900 Player EXP, Recruit Tickets, and more.
Along with these goodies, players can also expect community giveaways via the game’s official social media pages. These giveaways will let players win Diamonds and UR Recruit Tickets, along with a special Tobio Kageyama-themed wallpaper.
Perhaps the highlight of the celebration in HAIKYU!! FLY HIGH is the addition of Tetsuro Kuroo as a new UR character. As the captain of the Nekoma High volleyball team, Tesuro Kuroo is a favorite of many fans, so this addition should be an exciting one for many players. Given this position in the series, Kuroo is a Middle Blocker in this game, meaning he’s a formidable force for a team.
Finally, the celebration will include the limited-time in-game event “Crows vs. Cats: Destined Rivalry.”
