Nintendo Direct July 2025: The biggest reveals and trailers

From Octopath Traveler 0 to the new Hyrule Warriors game, here are the highlights of the recent Nintendo Direct.

In case you missed it, the latest Nintendo Direct went live yesterday, July 31, 2025, and it features plenty of trailers and reveals, including brand-new games coming to Switch 2, along with Switch 2 ports of previously released titles.

As the Direct was called a “Partner Showcase,” the stream featured games that are being developed by third-party publishers. While Nintendo didn’t show off the games they’re currently developing the Direct still featured plenty of exciting games for Switch 2 owners.

Here’s a rundown of the highlight reveals and trailers:

Octopath Traveler 0

First up, we have Octopath Traveler 0. As its title implies, this is a prequel to Square Enix’s Octopath Traveler, and it will launch on Switch and Switch 2 on December 4.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales

Square Enix also unveiled The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, a brand-new HD-2D RPG that will launch sometime in 2026.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

Age of Imprisonment is the next Hyrule Warriors game, and the new trailer showed off new gameplay footage. This game will launch in 2026.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection

Capcom revealed the third Monster Hunter Stories game at yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, and it’s set to launch sometime next year.

Persona 3 Reload – Switch 2 Release

After its launch last year, Atlus revealed that Persona 3 Reload is coming to the Switch 2 on October 23. This is no surprise considering that the game was also launched on the Switch.

Yakuza Kiwami & Kiwami 2 – Switch 2 Release

 

After the recent release of Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, SEGA is finally launching Kiwami and Kiwami 2 on the Switch 2 on November 13. Fingers crossed we also see the other Yakuza games get launched on the Switch 2 in the future.

Just Dance 2026 Edition

Ubisoft unveiled Just Dance 2026 Edition, the latest entry in the long-running franchise. This game is set to be released on October 14 on the Switch.

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero – Switch 2 Release

Sparking! Zero delighted Dragon Ball fans when it launched last year, so it’s great to see that the game will also be released on the Switch and Switch 2 on November 14.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted

Replanted is a remaster of the original Plants vs. Zombies, featuring local co-op along with PvP, among other additions. This game launches on Switch and Switch 2 on October 23.

Borderlands 4 – Switch 2 Release

2K also revealed some new trailers at the Nintendo Direct, one of which is the Switch 2 release of Borderlands 4. The game’s Switch 2 version will come out on October 3, and it will support the console’s GameChat and Joy-Con 2 mouse mode features.
