It’s fair to say that Gary Payton is one of the most popular NBA players of the 90s, thanks to his impressive defensive abilities. As such, fans in the Philippines flocked to a certain vivo concept store to see the NBA legend in person.
At the event, Payton shared that this is his fourth time in the Philippines, and that he jumped at the chance to come back as he has fond memories of the country and the passionate Pinoy NBA fans.
During a discussion with Payton at the event (which was also livestreamed here), The Glove shared some of his thoughts on his storied career. For Payton, representing the United States in the Olympics was a particularly meaningful moment, though he also mentioned winning an NBA championship with the Miami Heat and celebrating his son’s 2022 championship with the Golden State Warriors were also memorable.
