Ubisoft launches Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad for Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Available now for free on Android, iOS, and web browsers.

Ubisoft recently launched its new Discovery Tour App: Medieval Baghdad – an app that dives into 9th-century Baghdad, courtesy of Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Specifically, this app is based on the recreation of Baghdad from Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and it lets users explore the lost city, including its political, cultural, and scientific aspects. In the app, users can access two modes: Access Codex and Explore Baghdad.

Firstly, the Access Codex features an array of entries on the history, art, and culture of medieval Baghdad (think of it like an in-app encyclopedia). This mode also features info on the Abbasid Caliphate, making it a comprehensive source of information on the setting of Mirage.

As for the other mode, it’s called Explore Baghdad. Unlike the first mode, which is an encyclopedia, Explore Baghdad is a narrative-driven journey where players must collect Codex entries via a series of minigames and exploration. This mode takes 2 hours to complete, so it’s quite a meaty experience for a free app.

What’s also nice about the app is it features real-life artifacts from the period courtesy of the Arab World Institute Museum in Paris. These include items like the Ruby Lustre Bowl.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. If you want to know more about the game, check out our review here.
