Xiaomi 17 Series features three new smartphones

In a surprising turn of events, we're skipping right to the Xiaomi 17 series!

As a pleasant surprise, Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date for its highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 smartphone series.  According to the brand’s dedicated Weibo account, we’re about to get a taste of three new flagship devices: the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max.

The standard Xiaomi 17 will feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED display with a 19.6:9 aspect ratio and impressively thin 1.18mm bezels. The Xiaomi 17 Pro shares identical screen specifications, while all three models will incorporate Xiaomi’s advanced M10 screen luminescence technology, delivering what the company claims is the industry’s highest luminous efficiency at 82.1 cd/A.

The flagship Xiaomi 17 Pro Max stands out with its innovative independently arranged RGB pixel stack technology, designed to eliminate “pixel pooling” issues while consuming 26% less power compared to traditional 2K displays. This efficiency improvement represents a significant advancement in smartphone display technology.

Both Pro models will be powered by Xiaomi’s new Jinshajiang battery technology, featuring L-shaped stacked packaging with 16% high-silicon content. These batteries support 100W wired charging, ensuring rapid power replenishment for users who demand quick turnaround times.

In terms of power, all three Xiaomi 17 series smartphones are expected to run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, promising top-tier performance for gaming, photography, and multitasking. The devices will ship with Xiaomi Hyper OS 3 pre-installed, offering users the latest software experience from launch day.

The unveiling for the new smartphone series will kick off on Thursday, September 25 at 7PM Beijing time (11AM UTC). This comes hot off the heels of the brand new Xiaomi 15T which gets its global launch later today.
