Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds finally adds Persona 5’s Joker into the lineup

SEGA also announced that the game has now sold over 1 million copies!

It has been nearly a month since the game’s launch, and finally, SEGA has released Persona 5’s Joker in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Joker is now part of the game’s roster as part of the game’s latest update.

Unlike Minecraft’s Steve, which was part of a paid DLC pack, the new update featuring Joker is free for all players of the game. This is also the case with other SEGA and ATLUS characters.

Along with Joker himself, the update also adds his signature ride, the Arsène Wing. As its name implies, its look is based on Arsène, Joker’s first Persona. These aren’t everything you’ll get though, as the update also adds three tracks from Persona 5, including:

  • “Take Over”
  • “Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There”
  • “Victory” (Jukebox only)

To celebrate Joker’s arrival, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players can enjoy the new Joker festival, a collab event that’s live today at 8 AM until October 27 at 7:59 (PH time). During this event, players can participate in various challenges to get some cool rewards.

How it works is that players must join one of three teams and compete to score the most points, with each race offering a different challenge. By participating, players can earn Festival Points that can be used to unlock Persona-themed items like decals.

Finally, SEGA confirmed that the new Sonic game has now sold over 1 million units worldwide. Given the renewed interest in Sonic over the past years thanks to successful game releases and the Hollywood movie adaptations, it’s no surprise to see CrossWorlds become another hit for SEGA. Hopefully, this means we get more content and maybe even some freebies soon.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch, and PC.
