When the lights go down, the party doesn’t end, and the HONOR Magic V6 still continues to shine. On paper, the main camera module of the HONOR Magic V6 seems similar with that of the V5, we’re talking about 50MP Main Shooter, a 64 MP Telephoto Portrait Camera, and a 50MP Ultrawide camera. The difference this time is the arrangement of the telephoto and ultrawide with telephoto taking the more prominent position. Aside from this, the processor plays a crucial role in photo development. With the strongest Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 Gen 5 chipset, images come out the V6 is vastly superior than any of the previous foldables from the brand.

We took the HONOR Magic V6 with us on a birthday celebration in one of the drag clubs in QC. Booze, loud music, pulsating lightshows, and Queens that will slay the muthuclucking house down, we got to document one of the rare nights that aging Millennials such as myself got home at 4 in the morning. It’s been a while but we had loads of fun, and the HONOR Magic V6 was able to get some of the chaotic fun that night.
The 64MP telephoto Camera with 1/2 inch sensor has an f stop of up to f/2.5 allowing for a lot of light to come in. This especially helps during low-light situations like where we were. Add to the dizzying lights and the very animated Queens doing their sets, other smartphone may have a hard time coming up with creatively beautiful shots.
The HONOR Magic V6 using the Harcourt Studio Portrait Mode filters make easy work and professional-looking photos out of the fierce performers at Rampa. 10’s across the board!
Colors are natural-looking, and balanced well even with harsh lighting conditions. Even when light sources are extremely near, the HONOR Magic V6 was able to balance highlights, reflections, and shadows out. With the AiMage Portrait Engine that was originally found on the HONOR Magic 8 Pro now on the V6 and the Ai Color Engine working in tandem, images aren’t too blown-out.
And even if they were, the beauty with having a phone that has this much processing power and a solid hardware to boot is you could come up with pretty creative materials even if the images themselves aren’t that clear. What I’ve come to realize is that sometimes imperfections make a photo more interesting. Sometimes we just have to embrace the chaos and capture the essence of the moment.
Even with an already robust rear camera setup, HONOR ensured that the selfie cam can keep up. Even with just 20MP, it still will use the same NPU and image processing power to produce strikingly serviceable images even on the harshest of lighting conditions. To give context to the selfie below, I was flooded with sharp blue light. I can’t even see anything on the view finder and yet, the result wasn’t half bad.

The HONOR Magic V6 was announced globally at the Mobile World Congress 2026 and while we weren’t able to attend the event (due to the on-going Middle East conflict), we’re glad that we got to spend a considerable amount of time with the unit. No word yet when this will hit Philippine shores but here’s hoping it does and let’s hope it’s soon. This is one foldable you’d want to party with!
